Stay Home, and get excited by 6 screenings that feature 6 local creative parties in a total of 8 ifva finalist shorts and animations! The series begins with a selection of animations for grown-ups: DigiCon6 ASIA winning work “Mountains and Seas – Village of Muds”, and animated shorts “Behind the Schoolbag” and “Dap Pang Man”; “Loves, with Love” is a tender first love story in Tai O; Led by up-and-coming actors Or Wai Lam and Yu Shuk Pui, “Endless Chain of Lies” depicts a romantic rendezvous in this depressed city; In this town of visitors, there are some “Monkey Business” going on at the end of the dark lane; “busydoingnothing” could be anyone’s everyday life; “Ephwaipi” (=FYP) proves that Final Year Project could be rebellious with its provocative visual styles. John Hsu’s works have proved his passion for video games in terms of narrative, style and art direction. Intoxicant , awarded the 15th ifva Asian New Force Gold Award, depicts the crush of trust among six internet forum users after a hacker threatened to destroy the forum; the 20th ifva Asian New Force category finalist title, The Great Escape from Café City , takes on a slightly sarcastic tone to respond to the “a little happiness” trend in the 2010s.

Joe Hsieh is adept at creating hand-drawn animation that explores the dark side of human nature with his signature thriller-suspense style. The screening will be showing two of Hsieh’s earlier works. Meat Days , awarded Special Mention at the 12th ifva Asian New Force Category, depicts a cannibalistic world where protagonist Ah-err barters sexual favours for her and her family’s survival; The Present , listed for competition a Sundance Film Festival, is a black romantic thriller when love turns into hate.

"Jockey Club ifva Everywhere – People Cinema" free from the constraints of outdoor screening and will move to internet world this time. Two films of ifva Awards Open Category Gold Award Classic in two nights will be presented on YouTube LIVE, including Wong Sau-ping’s Glowing on 8 May, and Mak Hei-yan's Lovers' Lover on 9 May respectively. Both Wong and Mak are award winning local directors and we will be screening their works at their early stage! The directors will join our online sharing LIVE with guests respectively (8 May – Chan Hon-yan, The 25th ifva Award Open Category Gold Award Winner; 9 May – Lo Chun-yip (Siu yea), nominee of Best Supporting Actor of this year's Hong Kong Film Award). An early masterpiece by the acclaimed Japanese Director Takeshi Kitano A deaf-dumb teenager working as a garbage collector happens upon a battered surfboard, which plants in him the dream of becoming a surf champion. His girlfriend, also deaf-dump, lends him her support during the difficult practice sessions and competitions. Though trapped in silence, their expression of love is no less profound.
