Cityscapes always reflect the era. By observing the city, Film art directors use spaces and locations to create the time-space to construct the cinematic world. Audiences, in return, strive to understand the city and feel its changes through moving images.
“Jockey Club ifva Everywhere Master Class and Artist Mentoring Scheme” features Hong Kong veteran art director Mr Man Lim-chung to talk about the interrelationships among filmic space, city and moments in time.

Man Lim-chung
MAN Lim-chung entered the film industry after graduating from the School of Design, Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 1991. During the early years in his career, he assisted the most acclaimed local art directors such as Tony Au and William Chang on many Hong Kong Blockbusters. Man is a regular nominee for Best Art Direction and Best Costumes Design in the Hong Kong Film Awards. His renowned works include Tempting Heart, Silent War, The Golden Era, Our Time Will Come, etc. Man is also involved in a wide range of artistic creations in the entertainment industry in mainland China and Taiwan, including but not limited to album cover design, styling for concerts, art direction for performing arts, commercial and spatial design.
