City Memories
Ngau Tau Kok industrial district, busy traffic and people in daylight, is conquered by young souls with indie music in the air at night. A hit-and-run robbery at the Sha Tin Shing Mun Riverfront prior the sharing bike boom, turns out to be a prelude for a pathetic youth from the Northern district. Before sunset, three unusual brothers and sister are having their happy moments at the yet jolly and lively Sai Wan Swimming Shed and Sai Wan Pier. While films depict city lives, streets record daily routines. Who would have expected that films would serve as the ultimate record for our disappearing cityscape? Three groups of young local creative talents tell three different Hong Kong stories. Join us under the starlight at Wood Road, witness the unique local landscape composed by the liveliness of ordinary Hong Kong people.

A rendezvous at midnight Ngau Tau Kok, the ringtone of My Little Airport brings two people together. They talk and walk, and come up with the idea of traveling together. It is the mundane happenings which tears them apart. Leaving the city could be both an escape and a solution.

The iPhone thief just robbed an old man yet, the thief, with his quiet angst and look of desperation, feels like a victim himself in this sordid look at the underbelly of the city. Both guilt-ridden over the robbery and desperate for money, the thief is sinking fast into the quicksand of treachery when being lured into smuggling iPhones across the border with tragic outcome.

A story about mutual dependence and love. 15-year-old Wing lives with two foster siblings in an old lady’s apartment. To reunite with his father, Wing saves money by all means. Likewise, Wing’s brother believes in returning to his mother’s shelter while Wing’s elder sister, who has mild intellectual disability, feels distant relating to her own parents.
