Rehab
Tung Wing Hong
Rehab is a kinetic sculpture combining ceiling panel and dining table, with ceiling concrete fallen from the artist's home resting on top of it. These extra weights force the work to adapt and relearn walking. Every single step reflects the emotions for homeland.
Artist's Statement

Juror's Comment
Rehab is a highly personal work created during a period of familial and societal crisis. With its halting gait and animalistic form, the lumbering, weighed-down table carries both a sense of playfulness and melancholy. Useing a combination of kinetic design and industrial materials, Rehab gently expresses the slow and tentative process of post-traumatic healing. (Ulanda Blair)
