Juror's Comment
Almost There explores the highly charged intersections between the body and its social context. Frustration, helplessness, anger, rebellion, grit, and resilience are vividly expressed through action and material. The dynamic interplay of performance, drawing, and video, combined with a limited black-and-white palette, intensifies the work's emotional force. (Ulanda Blair)
