An Iranian girl unfolds her school memories through the wrinkles and fabrics of her old uniform. She admits that she’s nothing but a “female” and explores the roots of this idea in her school years.
Artist's Statement
This film is a social satire commenting on the mandatory Hijab being imposed on young girl students in Iran. The film explores the footprints of childhood uniforms on the way we expose ourselves and our bodies later in society.
Juror's Comment
Charming animation about a serious topic. It is political and critical without being aggressive or schematic. It talks about tradition, fanaticism and freedom with nice irony and humour. It fits well to its female viewpoint the way as she playfully uses different fabric and clothes as background of the animation. (Tamás Waliczky)
