Fit for all ages in a family, Experience Zone features workshops on drawing on 16mm films. Hand-drawn images projected, frame by frame, can mean much more than other images taken by your smart phone or digital camera in a snap. There will also be a virtual reality (VR) workshop that allows you to create a world of your own.

A thaumatrope is a toy that was popular in the Victorian times, Spin the disk between fingers and the two pictures appear to combine into one.

Hand-painted 16mm Film Workshop
Before the digital age, whatever you see on a silver screen have to be projected from frames of plastic film, which has become obsolete technology. Come and revisit the touch of 16mm film, draw on it, and create an abstract animation together!

*Each session runs for around 1 hour.

Tickets will be available 1 hour before the session at Carnival Information Centre on a first-come-first-served basis. Each ticket is for one person only.

Virtual Fireworks
VR Experience Session

Wear the VR goggle, and witness your own drawings to glamourously transform into DIY fireworks. Experience the extravaganza, solely personally yours, from different perspectives as if they exist in reality.

Tickets will be available at Carnival Information Centre on a first-come-first-served basis. The tickets of sessions from 3:00pm to 5pm will be distributed at 2pm; sessions from 5:00pm to 7pm will be distributed at 4pm. Each ticket is for one person only.

SNAP Circle
In a collective creative process, each person uses his or her cell phone to shoot from a particular angle. A pre-loaded mobile app will combine all these images to form a 360° time-lapse short film.
