A Dream of Red Mansions: The Long Goodbye

Wong Fei-pang
Hong Kong / DCP / In Cantonese with Chinese and English subtitles

Created for Ryuichi Sakamoto async International Short Film Competition, story inspired by the novel A Dream of Red Mansions.

If I need to speak, I would not know what is proper to talk about.

As if the story never grows old, the characters and details are still living in their world.
Vast and peaceful.
Jia Baoyu and Lin Daiyu encountered and separated countlessly in dreams that could not be dreams. If people die, the relationship may not be broken, but reincarnates.
I do not know their ending, I do not know mine either.
But life experienced bliss and pain, it would probably be alive itself.
