Once There was an Artwork

Wong Yu-hin Sampson, Lam Chi-fai Jason

Artist's Statement

Once There was a Factory was an attempt to bring 50 visitors in an art festival that took place in Kwun Tong on 20th September 2013 to an abandoned unit in an industrial building. Some of them form dialogues with activists involved in controversies surrounding Kwun Tong 's redevelopment. The dialogues became subjects initiating other rounds of conversations by digesting and selecting viewpoints circulated in the words spoken. The visitors were then brought back to the art festival and recorded a testimony of their journey. Partly a documentation of the work, we attempt to recreate it through another round of interactions.
