An English listening test takes place inside a small classroom while a typhoon hits outside. The students struggle to focus between the test recording and what happens beyond the test.
Artist’s Statement
I come from Hong Kong and Cantonese is my mother tongue. English listening tests during school days has given me a strong impression. The tests are mandatory for university admission across the city. Test recordings from previous years are easily accessible resources for students and teachers. I chose to adapt the test recording from 2008 into the film.
