Artist’s Statement
All trivial matters in daily life may seem insignificant. However it is always the normal things that have quite a lot of hidden gender prejudices all over the place. They accumulate day after day and the modern women who work hard to pursue their dreams got entangled to shine and sparkle.
The short film visualises the stream of consciousness when the protagonist is alone. The synchronisation of the screen color and emotions allows the audience to be in the shoes of those living a traditional patriarchal Chinese family life. It also deepens the understanding of the women in Hong Kong dealing with gender discrimination.
