An old and honest man Bolot works at a village school supplying heat. When the coal in his house is used up, his wife persuades him to steal some from the school despite the school only has limited storage.
I made the film as part of my application to study at FAMU International and I was admitted by the school. The idea comes from my childhood experience. I was born and studied in the village. My Dad’s brother worked at the village school supplying heat. This film is not only about the story of my Dad’s brother and corruption, but also about the ecology and immigration issues in Kyrgyzstan.
