πTon/2 is a sound installation that intervenes in the continuity of the research of Cod.Act on mechanical and sound organicity. The object is a flexible enclosed ring. It is set in motion by torsional motors located inside its body. πTon/2, by twisting and waving on itself, moves in a very natural and unpredictable way. The origin of the music created by πTon/2 is a deep sound of bass clarinet. It changes with its movements and is diffused by loudspeakers placed inside. When πTon/2 moves slowly, its contractions and dilations produce deep sensual sounds just like deep breaths. When the movements become fast, nervous and brutal, acid and sharp sound is generated along the tube, like a nervous flow.
