Mom is a film about distance and broken relation-ships. Through documenting a series of unanswered voice messages and misdialled phone calls among a mother, a grandmother, and a young girl, Mom shines light on the working class family.
Artist’s Statement
By revealing the subtle yet tragic sense of isolation and abandonment in the heartfelt check-in messages from the grandmother, this film captures the frustration and torment experienced by the adolescent young girl.
