"A glimpse into the lives of two youths, and the way the innocent childhood gives hope to those corrupted through time." That was supposed to be the story that I planned to tell. Until it isn't.
Artist's Statement
Originally, this film was to convey the longing for my childhood, as well as my fears in growing up as adulthood approaches. That was, until one of the actors abruptly became unavailable. In that state of impotent loss, it forced me to come face-to-face with my role as a director, a writer, and a simple human being who just wanted to make film. It was from that this short film was born. A journey of recognising one's creative freedom beyond limit.
Juror's Comment
It is a philosophical piece of work, bringing up a lot of questions on the story. The subtext of the dialogues which did not speak out, is interesting. Even more, the subtext of this subtext of the whole story is also very interesting. "What is story? What is climax? What is the end? Who is the protagonist? Who is the director?" And, "Whose story it is?" The whole viewing experience is an explorative journey about making a film. At the end of the film, it writes "based on a true story". What a critical remark! (Eric Poon)
