Artist's Statement
Several times at the movie theatre, when I've seen incredibly beautiful scenes in films, I've had the urge to reach out and touch them because of their beauty. However, I also know that I can't actually touch them, and there's the fear of being judged, so I've refrained from reaching out. I often find myself wondering if the most beautiful things are those that appear within reach but remain forever elusive. Looking back at this novel, the aspect that perhaps moved me the most is this. Through this filming experience, I've extended my hand in an attempt to touch that beauty, even though I might end up touching nothing at all.
Juror's Comment
At first glance, this work comprises hazy images of youthful memories; upon closer inspection, it uses a uniquely creative and delicate cinematography to convey an unconventional poetic flavour. The characters are also distinctive and even their voices leave an impression. (Adam Wong).
