Visceral Cinema: VR and Physical Interaction Workshop

With the increasing trend of new VR products being developed, the film industry is getting ready to engage the VR technology into film production. During 20th ifva Festival, ifva invited experimental filmmaker and media artist IP Yuk-Yiu to bring audience a lifelike experience in the world of virtual reality in the two-day VR and Physical Interaction workshop. During the workshop, he introduced popular VR devices including Oculus Rift, Unity and Leapmotion, and guided participants to create a high-quality simulated environment that stimulated extraordinary sensory experience and interaction.

Post-production Colour Grading Workshop

ifva worked with Blackmagic Design in hosting the Post-production Colour Grading Workshop in the 20th ifva Festival. Guided by experienced Singapore colorist from Blackmagic Design, participants explored color enhancing and altering process for moving images using color-correcting software DaVinci Resolve. Step by step, from theory to actual practice, the colour grading techniques allowed participants to greatly improve the mood of a scene, set a film style and bring an evolutionary change to a video image.
