ifva is working with the world-renowned animation school GOBELINS l’école de l’image of France to bring you into the world of animation. The three-day course will take place in Hong Kong Art School, catered for both up-and-coming and professional animators. Guided by award-winning animator Pierre Perifel from DreamWorks, and world famous mime acting teacher Robert Bennett from France, the master class will cover 2D and 3D animation with focus on character animation. Two highly potential students will be picked and sent to GOBELINS campus in France for this year’s Summer School. The chance to learn from the best of the world is right in front of you!

About GOBELINS Summer School:
A ticket to admission every summer in France is what makes students and animators around the world look. GOBELINS’ summer school is no ugly cousin to its three-year course. Every year people fight hard for the admission. This year, ifva reserves two spaces and offers scholarships that will pay the enrollment fee, accommodation and flight tickets, opening the gateway into the international animation scene for these aspiring artists.

Venue Hong Kong Art School (Shau Kei Wan Campus), PC Lab
Targets Local students or animators intended to advance their skills.
Language Course will be conducted in English

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants are required to know the basics of animation production and have relevant working experience. Beginners are not accepted. Please submit the following documents for juror assessment.

  2. Job reference – Applicant are required to submit ONE completed animation short or a show reel with a duration of 3 minutes. The video can be submitted through a YouTube / Vimeo hyperlink or 3 copies of DVD in DVD Video format.
Note: Applicants have no age restriction. Applicants must be permanent Hong Kong residents. (The Hong Kong permanent identity card, which states that the holder has the right of abode in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region)
