Selections of Korean Independent Animation Filmmakers Association (KIAFA)
After a two-year hiatus, ifva once again collaborates with
Korean Independent Animation Filmmakers Association (KIAFA) and
Indie-Anifest, presenting the newest edition of Korean animation shorts.
In the shadow of the circus, what would happen if the cat
falls in love with the mouse? You can find out in Entering the Mind
through the Mouth (CHOI Jin-sung/ 23' 40"/ in Korean with English
subtitles). You probably would rather go home after work for dinner if
your cooker says Have Meal, Please (KIL Dong-min/ 4' 39")! A writer is
having a self-reflective mind trip in Master Peace (CHOI Won-jae/ 12'), a
surrealistic journey reminding us the works of the great Czech director
Jan ŠVANKMAJER. Seater: The War in the Subway Train (PARK Hyeonyong/
8' 36"/ in Korean with English subtitles) portrays the world of
underground and overcrowded in a very comic way. 14 Beat (RAH Jungin,
YANG Jung-hoon/9' 6"/ in Korean with English subtitles) captures the
beat of life through music with an undertone of regret. Burning Stage (YANG Sun-woo/ 3' 50") shows the delicate micro-world in harmony, in
contrast with the chaos of The Note (HWANGBO Kum-byul/ 3' 31"). With
ink and wash technique, The Newly Coming Seasons (MIN Sung-ah/ 11'
40") depicts the alteration of nature under the 50 years-old Korean War
Armistice Agreement.
