The Links and Beyond
ifva has a long tradition of nurturing new creative media
talents, and this year's greenlab continues to sow the seeds of creativity
and we hope the audience will enjoy its fruits. ifva is collaborating
with Gold Typhoon for the first time by bringing together two female
award winners—Jessey TSANG and Heiward MAK, who will be working
with pop star Justin LO on two short videos that combine images and
sound in a novel and innovative way to tell a moving yet genuine love
story. Meanwhile, just as the Hong Kong Film Archive is presenting a
retrospective of LUNG Kong's works, we have invited three ifva veterans,
Vincent CHUI (Three Narrow Gates, Fear of Intimacy, etc.), Rita HUI (Dead
Slowly) and SHAM Ka-ki (whose Life Must Go On won the Gold Award in
the Youth Category last year), along with renowned visual artist CHOW
Chun-fai to create a programme entitled "A Creative Journey With LUNG
Kong", which will pay tribute to the prolific auteur. Other greenlab events
will be forthcoming in the near future, which will further extend ifva's
mission of building up independent spirit and creative community while
giving the opportunity for local media talents to shine.
