What if everybody can have a chance to ask "if" a dozen times?
The ifva Animation Category has always been full of surprises and infinite
possibilities. This year is no exception and you now have a dozen of "ifs"
coming to you.
If we lose our dream in everyday life, will it be too much just
being a little bit sarcastic like Donate Blood Instead of Hot Blooded (MAK Ying-ping/ 4' 18"/ in Cantonese with English subtitles)? Life is rocky,
but if we have the kind of love and care in I Am I (CHAN Ying-lee/ 7' 28"/
in Cantonese with English subtitles), nothing is going to be in our way. If
truly a dish of gourmet cuisine is in our way, may we end up in a farce like
Isolate (CHAN Hoi-hin/ 5')? What if we enter the subconscious world of
Tancho (Oscar SHEIKH / 3' 43"), or the fantasy wonderland of Fat Son and
the Stone Prince (LEUNG Kat-lung, KWOK Kwan-kin, LEI Kwan-yin, LAO
Ho-keng/ 11'31") and see a lot of interesting things? If love will prevail
at last, can we take a glimpse of the key in Faces (SHAM Ching-man,
LAU Chi-leung, TSE Mei-si/ 2' 35")? If every single fairy tale is as vivid and
interesting as Little Red Riding Hood (LAI Ka-wing/ 4' 30"), there won't
be any doze-off in class. If A Hair Story (MAK Shing-fung/ 7' 15") reminds
us about the things in the past, Tree (CHEUNG Kok-ning, SIU Suet-ying,
CHENG Wing-shan/ 4' 36") asks us to cherish what we have in the present.
If we have Found Me (NG Lung-fung/ 4' 2") to be our guide when we get
lost, we may end up going to MK, HK (WONG Ka-chuen, MAK Wing-kei/
10' 2"/ in Cantonese with Chinese and English subtitles) to see a different
side of the city. If we know about the hilarious truth of Wu Song Kill
Tiger (Buck MOK/ 10' 20"/ in Cantonese with English subtitles), fancy a
ride to go back in time and find out more?
Look closely: ifva begins with an "if". In this year's Animation
Finalist Showcase, all the possibilities just blossom.
